As mentioned, the house edge and odds for European Roulette are better for the player, compared to American Roulette. The house edge is a lot lower at 2.7%, and the odds of winning by betting on specific numbers is 1 in 37.

There is one main difference between European roulette and American roulette. The latter has 38 pockets and two zeros  0 and 00  whereas in European roulette, the wheel has 37 pockets and just one zero. The sequence of the numbers on a European roulette wheel is also different.

What is American roulette? The American roulette wheel has some key differences to the standard wheel you see throughout casinos in Europe and the UK, with 38 numbers (1 to 36 plus 0 and 00). Numbers from 1 to 36 are alternately coloured red and black, while the single zero and the double zero are marked in green.
