The series is directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon and premiered on Apple TV+ on March 25, 2024. It received critical acclaim, particularly for its cinematography, writing, and the performances of the cast. In April 2024, the series was renewed for a second season.
Pachinko is set to begin the first part of filming in Toronto on February 1, 2024, and wrap on April 21, 2024. The second part of the shoot, taking place in Busan, Korea, will begin in late April and conclude by the end of June 2024.
