The film is loosely based on Fleming's Casino Royale, the only Bond book for which producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman did not hold the rights. Rather than try and compete with the popular Sean Connery movies, the filmmakers decided to shoot the novel as a spoof.
The Best Western Plus Casino Royale (formerly known as the Nob Hill Casino and Casino Royale) is a casino and hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The casino, measuring 19,000 sq ft (1,800 m2), caters to low rollers. The hotel includes 152 rooms.
