In 2004, after performing poorly for two consecutive seasons in the Srie A, Grmio finished bottom of the league and were relegated to Campeonato Brasileiro's Second Division. Srie B brought even less revenue, which combined with the club's large debt threatented to snowball into Grmio's bankruptcy.
Our Founder and President Andre Kunz Sana, is a native Brazilian from Porto Alegre, Brazil.
