V Sports purchased 46% of Vitria S.C. in February 2024, with the acquisition advised by Slaughter & May. Nassef Sawiris noted that discussions had been ongoing for almost two years between V Sports and Vitria.
The team was founded with the motto "Nasceu para Vencer" (Born to Win). Bahia won 50 State Championships, 21 more than the Vitria (their rival club), and was the first club to participate in Taa Libertadores da America in 1960.
