Microsoft closesR$69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard after lengthy regulatory review. More than 20 months after agreeing to the company's largest purchase ever, Microsoft has closed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
The FTC filed a lawsuit aimed at stopping the deal in December 2024, arguing that Microsoft would use Activision's popular games to suppress competition to its Xbox consoles and dominate fast-growing subscription and cloud gaming businesses.
